Bennet Staff Announces Farm Bill Listening Sessions in Eastern Colorado, Invites Coloradans to Attend

Washington, D.C. – Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet announced that his agriculture policy staff and his regional staff will host three days of Farm Bill listening sessions throughout Eastern Colorado next week.

“From severe drought to volatile supply chains, Colorado farmers and ranchers have faced a difficult few years,” said Bennet. “These listening sessions are an opportunity for Coloradans to tell us how Washington can be a better partner to producers across the state. I look forward to hearing your ideas.”

In an effort to make sure Colorado’s voice is part of the national discussion about next year’s Farm Bill, Bennet’s staff will continue to host listening sessions across the state throughout 2022. In 2017, Bennet organized two dozen staff-led Farm Bill Listening Sessions around the state. This year, Bennet kicked off his listening sessions with roundtables in Pueblo and Fort Collins in April and May.

Anyone with input on the Farm Bill process is welcome to attend, including local producers, community leaders, economic development leaders, and local institutions and businesses.

Attendees should RSVP to james_thompson@bennet.senate.gov with the location where they would like to attend, their name, title and organization (if applicable), and contact information. Additional details about each listening session and media guidance is available below.
