We offer a competitive internship program for college students, college graduates, and graduate students in Michael's Colorado and Washington, D.C. offices. These structured internships provide an opportunity to learn about the role of a Senatorial office while enabling participants to serve their community.

 

Individuals from all majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, although candidates with a Colorado connection will be prioritized. Each candidate is required to commit to at least 12 hours of work per week. All interns in Michael's offices are paid $15 an hour or receive compensation through an external program or partnership. To apply, read the guidelines for each office below and complete the online application form with the following materials:

  • Letter of recommendation
  • Writing sample (max. 1000 words)

Colorado Internships

Colorado interns in one of Michael’s seven Colorado offices will have the opportunity to assist with constituent communication and outreach, take notes in weekly meetings, draft official office letters, collaborate on research projects, and more.

Washington, D.C. Internships

Interns in Michael's Capitol Hill office are responsible for supporting his legislative priorities and assisting with administrative duties such as constituent communication. 

Legislative interns will have the opportunity to assist with legislative research, write responses to constituent inquiries, attend committee hearings, and prepare briefs on Senate activities. Greeting visitors, answering phones, and giving Capitol tours are also part of the internship.
