Denver — Colorado U.S. Senators Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper welcomed over $60 million for thirteen Colorado projects from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) Buses & Bus Facilities Program and Low- or No-Emission (Low-No) Program for fiscal year 2025-2026. The investments are part of the $1.5 billion in funding from the Low-No Program and the Buses & Bus Facilities Program, which provide grants nationwide through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Senator Bennet and Senator Hickenlooper sent letters to DOT in support of a number of the projects that were awarded grant money.
“I am grateful to see that the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is still bringing positive changes to Colorado,” said Bennet. “This funding will continue and build upon the work we’ve done to ensure that Colorado’s public transit system is cleaner and greener.”
“Safer commutes. Cleaner air. Our Bipartisan Infrastructure Law keeps delivering big wins for Colorado,” said Hickenlooper.
The Low-No Program provides grants for the purchase of zero- or low-emission transit buses. The Buses & Bus Facilities Program provides grants for replacing, rehabilitating, or purchasing buses. Both grant programs are intended to reduce carbon emissions and make public transit cleaner.
