Bennet Continues 'Fighting for Colorado Families' Statewide Tour - Meets with Local Law Enforcement Officials in Montrose

Montrose, CO - Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, visited the City of Montrose Police Department and heard from local officers and mental health professionals in San Miguel, Montrose and Delta Counties on the challenges of law enforcement in the region, particularly methamphetamine use in Western Colorado and the issues rural communities face in dealing with the drug trade.

"These officers work extremely hard to make sure their communities are safe," Bennet said. "We need to make sure our officers have all the resources they need to do their job."

Local officers are critical to the safety and security of Colorado's families and communities. Bennet said today he is working to ensure that local departments have the resources and federal support they need to keep Colorado's communities safe.
