Bennet Continues 'Fighting for Colorado Families' Tour with Meeting with Agricultural Leaders in Kremmling

Kremmling, CO - Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, met with agricultural leaders and ranchers from across northwest Colorado to hear their concerns in a roundtable discussion that included leaders from the Community Agriculture Alliance, the Northwest Colorado Farmers Union, Northwest Colorado Products and the Farm Service Agency among others.

"Our farmers, ranchers and rural communities must have a seat at the table as Washington discusses how its going to reform health care, develop new energy policy, handle the banking crisis, and so much more" Bennet said. "Their voice is critical to ensuring that Washington's priorities are in line with those of rural America."

As a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Bennet is committed to fighting for Colorado's farmers, ranchers and rural communities. Meeting participants noted the importance of maintaining vibrant rural communities, balancing competing demands for water, enabling farmers and ranchers to pass their operations from one generation to the next, providing affordable health care to individuals and small businesses and finding ways to recruit and retain health care professionals in rural communities.
