Bennet Continues 'Fighting for Colorado Families Tour' - Will Visit Site of Geothermal Greenhouse in Pagosa Springs, Meet with Officials

Durango, CO - On Monday, August 17 at 12:30 pm in Pagosa Springs, Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, will visit the site for the Geothermal Greenhouse in Pagosa Springs and meet with local leaders.

The geothermal hot springs have a major economic impact on the community, not only as a source of clean energy, but also as a tourist attraction. Government buildings have been heated with the geothermal resource since 1982. Once completed, the greenhouse project will utilize the geothermal waters in the area to heat five facilities to produce vegetables, herbs and fruit for sale to local restaurants and individuals.

The group will meet at the Riverwalk behind government offices and proceed to the Springs Resort, 165 Hot Springs Blvd. for a meeting after the tour. Press is invited to attend both the tour and the meeting.
