Bennet on Senate Floor: Congress is Failing Coloradans on Health Care

Washington, D.C. - Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today spoke on the Senate floor about the devastating consequences Trumpcare would have for Colorado and the country, and the need for a bipartisan process and bill to improve the health care system. In commenting on Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's decision to extend the July work period, Bennet said:

"A better idea might be to follow the regular order around here. Take our government back: make it work, have hearings, have witnesses. I can think of 100 Coloradans off the top of my head who would like to come here and testify. I'll even say, 50 of them can be Republicans and 50 can be Democrats. Have them come testify on what would make health care better for them, because that's what this should be about: Families all across this country that are struggling because of our health care system and need relief from this Congress, and so far aren't getting it."
