Bennet: Loretta Lynch has Now Waited Twice as Long as Past Seven AG Nominees Combined

Washington, DC - Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet offered the following statement on the Senate's failure to vote on Loretta Lynch's nomination to serve as Attorney General:

"Loretta Lynch has now been waiting a record-breaking 160 days for confirmation. This is more than twice as long as the previous seven Attorney General's combined. This is no way to govern. The American people sent Congress here to do a job. They expect the Senate to meet its most basic constitutional obligations. It's time to end this delay and vote on this nomination."

In March, Bennet spoke on the Senate floor about ending the unnecessary delays and allowing a vote on this nomination.
