Earlier Today, Bennet Spoke on the Senate Floor In Support of the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act

Washington, D.C. — Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act with bipartisan support:

“For years, Congress has ignored the American people’s reasonable demands that we address gun violence in America. Now, for the first time in a generation, we’ve made real progress. This bipartisan rejection of the NRA is long overdue, and we should build on this achievement with further action to keep Americans safe.”

The Bipartisan Safer Communities Act now heads to the U.S. House of Representatives. Earlier today, Bennet spoke on the Senate floor in support of this bill.
