Bennet Joins Mercury Payment Systems for Opening of New Durango Headquarters

Mercury Village Built for Growth in Southwest Colorado

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today visited Mercury Payment Systems in Durango to celebrate the opening of its new headquarters, Mercury Village.

Founded in 2001, Mercury Payment Systems has grown to 450 employees in Durango, becoming one of the largest employers in La Plata County. It has an additional 200 employees in Denver.

“There is an innovation boom happening around Colorado right now, and Mercury Payment Systems is a part of that trend that is driving our economy,” Bennet said. “Today’s celebration is a reflection of Durango’s history, one that has been embedded with forward-thinking visionaries. Mercury has proven to be an innovative leader in payment processing technology, helping businesses all over the world better serve their customers. We look forward to seeing that success continue here in Durango in the years to come.”

Mercury Village contains about 100,000 square feet of office space and will have the capacity to eventually hold 550 employees. The entire complex will reach 58 acres, including an 800-space parking lot.
