Denver – Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the statement below following the protests in Denver demanding justice for George Floyd and President Trump’s tweets in response to the protests:
“We must work together to dismantle systemic racism in our country and hold ourselves accountable to seek justice for black Americans and other victims of racial violence. We owe it to George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and their families.
“It’s despicable that the President of the United States is inciting violence against the protesters, tweeting ‘when the looting starts, the shooting starts.’”
