Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today released the following statement on the signing of the Colorado River Cooperative Agreement (CRCA) between Denver Water, Grand and Summit Counties, and the Clinton Ditch and Reservoir Company
“Today’s signatures on the cooperative agreement mark a significant step towards the consensus-based and sustainable future development of Colorado’s water resources. This document puts Colorado on a cooperative path for the future that protects the health of our state's rivers and streams, the quality of life for Coloradans and the state’s economy. It is my hope that these important discussions will continue so that all of the stakeholders will be able to sign and the agreement can be fully implemented.”
The CRCA was signed today by Denver Water, Grand County, Summit County, and the Clinton Ditch & Reservoir Co. It was signed by several other West Slope entities in February. The agreement establishes cooperative, long-term efforts to improve the health of the Colorado River and its tributaries.
