Bennet Welcomes Confirmation of Fred Hochberg as President of Export-Import Bank

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today welcomed the confirmation of Fred P. Hochberg to serve as the President of the Export-Import Bank for a second term. The Senate voted 82-17 to approve the nomination.

“Colorado continues to bolster its reputation as a hub for innovation. Its businesses are branching out and helping the United States compete in the global economy,” Bennet said. “The Export-Import Bank is an important tool that helps local businesses bring their products and services to new and emerging markets. President Hochberg’s confirmation for another term will help Colorado businesses continue to benefit from the resources available through the Export-Import Bank.”

Since coming to the Senate, Bennet has been a vocal advocate for the Export-Import Bank and its ability to help Colorado businesses grow in global markets. Bennet and his staff have offered a series of Beyond Colorado workshops around the state to help business owners learn about state and federal resources available for exporting overseas and the basics of protecting ideas and intellectual property when selling and distributing products outside of the U.S.

Bennet has also visited businesses like Coolerado, Sandhill Scientific, and Leitner-Poma to learn more about these innovative businesses, how they are expanding and growing in new markets and in what ways they’ve worked with the Export-Import bank.

Fred P. Hochberg is the current President of the Export-Import Bank of the United States, a position he has held since May 2009.
