Bennet, Klobuchar, Colleagues Urge Increase in Funding for Election Security Ahead of 2020

State and Local Officials Require Significant Resources to Improve Election Security and Modernize Election Infrastructure

Today, U.S. Senators Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) and Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Ranking Member of the Senate Rules Committee, and 37 of their colleagues sent a letter to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees, urging an increase in funding for election security grants and the Election Assistance Commission (EAC).
This week, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, joined Senator Mark R. Warner (D-VA), the lead Democrat on the committee, in introducing an amendment to the fiscal year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would require presidential campaigns to report foreign interference in U.S. elections.
