Washington, DC – Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement after voting in favor of the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment, or HIRE Act. The legislation, which was approved by the Senate on a 70-28 vote, cuts taxes on small businesses that begin hiring again, makes targeted, job-creating investments in local infrastructure, and is completely paid for:

“Nothing is more important right now than putting Americans back to work and cutting taxes for small businesses that create jobs. Small businesses were left behind when the previous administration bailed out the big banks on Wall Street. The bill we passed today is good for Colorado – it gives our small businesses the tax relief they need to invest in their companies, grow and create new jobs.”
