Washington, DC – Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, released the following statement on the Wall Street Reform bill that was blocked from consideration in the Senate by a vote of 57 to 41:

“Until we fundamentally reform the way Wall Street does business, our economy remains at risk of another financial crisis. The Senate had an opportunity to move forward with a bill that would improve transparency, strengthen consumer protections, and protect the American taxpayer from bailing out the largest banks in the country. Instead, Wall Street remains protected and consumers remain vulnerable.”
