Denver, CO – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement today on the shooting of U.S. Rep. Gabby Giffords.

“My thoughts today are with Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, her staff, the victims of today’s tragedy and their families. This type of senseless violence has no place in our nation.

“My office has worked together with Representative Giffords’ office in Congress.  She is a bright, energetic lawmaker committed to the residents of her district and to our nation.

“We must also keep alive the memory of the victims, including a federal judge and a child, who lost their lives today.”
