Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today released the following statement on Pearl Harbor Day.

“Today, I join Coloradans and Americans as we reflect on the events that took place at Pearl Harbor on this day 71 years ago. We still remember and honor those who fought and paid the ultimate sacrifice defending our country. In the same spirit that we remember those who bravely served our country in World War II, we must support today’s men and women in uniform and keep our promise to care for and honor our country’s veterans.”

In 1994, Congress designated December 7 of each year as Pearl Harbor Day to commemorate and honor those who died in the attacks in 1941.
