Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement on the passing of Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ):

“This week, the state of New Jersey and the entire country lost a devoted public servant. Senator Lautenberg served his state and all Americans in his work to support our veterans, improve awareness about public health issues, and to reduce the number of tragic deaths from drunk driving. As a member of our country’s greatest generation and the last in the Senate to have served in World War II, we will remember him for his dedication to our country as a servicemember and as a Senator. Our thoughts are with his family.”
