Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement on the 15th anniversary of the tragic shooting at Columbine High School:

“Fifteen years ago we lost 13 young, innocent lives.  Colorado and our local communities were changed forever.  As we reflect on that horrible day, parents are reminded of our worst fears and can’t help but see the faces of our own children in the memories of the kids we lost.  After a series of tragedies in Colorado and around the country that have been all too similar, today serves as a moment to recommit ourselves to preventing these acts of senseless violence from ever happening again.”
