Washington, D.C. – Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the statement below following former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s appearance before the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence:

“Director Mueller made it clear that his investigation did not exonerate President Trump from allegations of obstructing justice. His testimony confirmed the sustained and calculated effort by the Russian government to interfere in our elections and animated the disturbing interactions between Trump campaign officials and a foreign adversary.

“He also warned that Russian efforts to interfere in our democracy remain a threat as we approach the 2020 election. To protect our democracy, every elected official must put politics aside and take action.”
