Washington, D.C. – Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement on President Joe Biden’s American Families Plan: 

“From universal pre-K, to childcare, and paid family leave, President Biden’s plan calls for historic investments in the American people. 

“A permanent expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit and permanent refundability of the Child Tax Credit will rectify decades of underinvestment in America’s families, workers, and children.  

“But we need to go a step further and make the Child Tax Credit expansion permanent. The president supports this goal, and we can’t afford to wait to get it done.

“The American Families Plan is a significant framework to guide Congress. I look forward to working with the administration and my colleagues to ensure that any final infrastructure bill includes a permanent expansion of the entire Child Tax Credit.”
