Denver – Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement after Phil Washington withdrew his nomination to lead the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA):
“For over twenty years, I have witnessed Phil Washington’s leadership and record of results. While some Republican senators led a deeply unfair campaign to distract from his experience and impugn his character, Phil demonstrated integrity throughout his confirmation process and never wavered in his commitment to serve the country that he loves. Phil would have made an outstanding FAA administrator, but my colleagues resorted to cheap partisan politics instead of putting the American people first.”
