Washington, D.C. — Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed the national security supplemental bill in a 70-29 bipartisan vote:

“Today, we overcame our division and dysfunction and sent a strong, bipartisan message to the rest of the world: America stands with Ukraine.

“Through their courage, ingenuity, and toughness, the Ukrainian people have reminded us what it looks like to fight and die for democracy. Ukraine’s battle is our battle.

“But the work is not done.

“Ukraine is out of bullets, and Putin’s army is advancing. The Ukrainian people can beat Putin on the battlefield, but not without our support. Our House colleagues must pass this package immediately.”
