Washington, D.C. — Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, issued the following statement on Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard’s release of the report by House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on Russia’s intervention in the 2016 presidential election:

“Tulsi Gabbard’s release of this hyper-partisan House report exposes sensitive intelligence sources and undoubtedly puts U.S. interests at risk.

“Her desperate ploy does not change the conclusion of the bipartisan, unanimous 2020 Senate Intelligence Committee report – endorsed by then-Chairman Marco Rubio – which affirmed that Russia meddled in the 2016 election to undermine our democracy and influence the outcome to benefit Donald Trump.

“Director Gabbard already misled Congress once when she falsely claimed Trump administration officials did not share classified information in their infamous Signal group chat. She continues to demonstrate her incompetence, which threatens to undermine our national security and our closest alliances

“She must resign.”
