Washington – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, released the following statement in celebration of Colorado Ag Day.  Gov. John Hickenlooper designated March 16, 2011 as Colorado Ag Day, coinciding with National Ag Week, March 13-19.

“In Colorado, farming and ranching are a proud tradition and a vital part of our economy,” said Bennet. “Our farmers and ranchers work the land, in good times and in bad, to ensure Coloradans have safe, high-quality food to put on the kitchen table. We can’t take the work of our farmers and ranchers for granted.  On Colorado Ag day we take time to thank Colorado’s producers for the food, feed, fuel and fiber they provide; the land and water they protect; and everything they do to keep our country and our economy strong.”
