Washington, D.C. Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement after the Senate passed the National Security Supplemental aid package that included aid to Ukraine by a bipartisan vote of 79-18:

“We have had a long, tough battle to stand-up for democracy around the world and support the courageous people of Ukraine. Today, we won that fight, passing military and humanitarian support for Ukraine with 79 votes. With strong bipartisan votes in both the House and the Senate, Congress has rejected this season’s version of “America First” isolationism.

“Inspired by the Ukrainian people’s sacrifice, we have overcome our political divisions to confront Putin’s immoral invasion. And, we have shown the world’s tyrants that democracies will stand together when threatened.

“Better days are ahead.”
