Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today issued the following statement in remembrance of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.
“Today, my family and I join Coloradans and Americans across the country to remember the thousands of lives that were lost in the September 11th terrorist attacks. Those attacks changed our country forever.
“Since then, we have worked hard to recover and rebuild in a way that has made our country even stronger. The anniversary of these attacks serves as an important reminder of our nation’s resilience and how the bonds that unite us are much stronger than the issues that divide us. We can honor the memory of the victims we lost in this terrible tragedy by working together to build a future worthy of the aspirations we have for our kids and grandkids.”
Bennet attended the Congressional Remembrance Ceremony this morning on the East Front Steps of the U.S. Capitol to mark the 12th anniversary of the terrorist attacks.
