Denver, CO - Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet issued the following statement on a proposal released today by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to complete the VA hospital in Aurora:

"Time is of the essence, and we need to ensure we complete this hospital. We'll take a very close look at this plan, and we urge Congressional and committee leadership to do so as well.

"We need to find a quick path to an agreement that will help complete this project. Any plan approved by Congress must hold those responsible accountable and include strong measures to ensure the project stays on track going forward. As we've said from the beginning, this hospital must be completed for our veterans. Any other result is unacceptable."
