Bennet Statement on Bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee Report on Intelligence Community Assessment of Russian Interference

Denver – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet, a member of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, released the statement below following the release of the Committee’s bipartisan report reviewing the Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA) produced by the CIA, NSA, and FBI on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, the fourth volume in the committee’s ongoing investigation of the role Russia played in U.S. elections:

“Ever since the Intelligence Community assessed that the Russians interfered in the 2016 election to elect Donald Trump, partisans have questioned its credibility without basis. After a thorough, bipartisan review, the Senate Intelligence Committee has confirmed the Intelligence Community’s assessment was well supported. Under extraordinary circumstances, the men and women of our Intelligence Community fulfilled their mission to provide the nation a clear, apolitical, and independent assessment. The committee’s findings should serve as a potent reminder of the enduring threats we face ahead of the 2020 elections and the urgent need for bipartisan vigilance to protect our democratic institutions.”
