Michael Bennet U.S. Senator for ColoradoMenu
One of the highest honors Michael has as a Senator is to nominate Coloradans to a U.S. Service Academy. Attending a Service Academy is a pledge to build upon the legacy of service, character, and integrity of those who have come before you. We have no doubt that if selected, you will make Colorado proud.
In order to attend a Service Academy, you must receive a congressional nomination. Please note: Applying to our office for a nomination is only one part of the process. You also must apply directly to the Academies.
The application opens on April 8, 2022 and the current deadline is October 15, 2022. You can access the 2022 2021 Service Academy event presentation HERE. Please contact our Colorado Springs Office for more information.
Many Coloradans are knowledgeable about the U.S. Air Force Academy located in Colorado Springs. However, there are four other service academies that each offer a unique experience. You may apply to the following Academies:

One letter of the three must come from a teacher, counselor, or principal. It does not have to be a teacher, counselor, or principal you have right now – it can be someone from a previous school year.
Your letters of recommendation MUST have signatures of the recommender, not their typed name. Please have your writer put the recommendation on the letterhead of their organization. Note: There may be some individuals, such as retired teachers or coaches, who are sending letters on personal letterhead. That is fine.
Our application includes a place to provide the name and relationship of each of your letter writers. If you receive more than three letters, only upload your top three to your online application. We will only consider three letters.Return to Top

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet and his team are committed to answering Coloradans’ questions, listening to their concerns, and helping them navigate federal agencies — including the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Social Security Administration (SSA), and more.
This spring, Bennet invites constituents to speak with members of his staff in regions across the state. Bennet's staff will hold telephone office hours to provide support for Coloradans facing the health and economic effects of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), listen to concerns, respond to questions, and help constituents in dealing with the IRS, Social Security Administration, VA, or other federal agencies.
To schedule an appointment, send an email to the contact for your region with a brief description of the issue you want to address. If you are already working with someone in Bennet’s office, please include that information in your email, as well.
Those without email access can call the phone numbers for the contact in your region. Constituents do not need to wait for listening session dates to ask for help or share their thoughts and concerns. Please call any Bennet office at any time for assistance.
Traditionally, Bennet’s staff has held in-person listening sessions. Due to safety concerns amid the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, our office will be holding 2021 office hours via telephone.
If you don’t see your county represented, we are adding more county office hours in the summer and fall, including in person options as health concerns dictate. Again, you don’t need to wait for an appointment to seek help. Please call any Bennet office at any time for assistance.
