Bennet Welcomes Changes to Proposed Rules For The Charter School Program from the Department of Education

Denver — Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released the following statement after the U.S. Department of Education released new rules for the Charter School Program:

“Every student deserves access to high-quality education that prepares them for success. I’m pleased that the Department of Education has heeded our call to ensure high-quality charter schools can continue to access funds, operate without additional, unnecessary barriers and bureaucracy, and reach more families in underserved communities.”

In May, Bennet joined his colleagues to express their concerns to Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona about the proposed rules.
