Bennet Continues 'Fighting for Colorado Families' Tour With Visit to Denver Health, Roundtable Discussion with Health Care Providers

Hears From Denver Health Doctors, Nurses, Administrators on Challenges of Caring for Uninsured

Denver, CO -Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, visited Denver Health and heard from doctors, nurses and administrators there on the challenges of caring for a large population of uninsured patients. The discussion touched on how to provide better quality care and lower health care costs in a high-performing integrated health care system.

"Denver Health does a tremendous job of providing high-quality health care at a lower cost for Colorado's uninsured working families," said Bennet. "Doctors and nurses at Denver Health provide high quality care at a lower cost than other systems in the region.

"They, like other health care providers across Colorado, are on the front lines of this issue and have so much to contribute to the national discussion on health care, but their voices are not being heard over all the political wrangling. We need to make sure that we make every effort to bring them into this debate so that we can achieve health care reform the right way."

Bennet's visit to Denver Health is part of his ongoing effort to meet with doctor, nurses and patients in communities across the state to discuss health care reform and other issues critical to Colorado families.
