Senators Michael Bennet and Mark Udall welcomed the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' decision today to award 17 Colorado community health centers more than $3 million to help uninsured patients enroll for affordable health insurance coverage. The funds, allocated under the Affordable Care Act, show how the law is helping hardworking families enroll in affordable health insurance programs.
"Coloradans across the state rely on community health centers for access to critical health services," Bennet said. "These resources will support their efforts to help families understand health coverage options, determine eligibility for different plans, and enroll in the right plan them."
"Community health centers provide a critical avenue for Colorado families to secure the health services they need to stay healthy and productive," Udall said. "These awards to community health centers across the state will help educate all Coloradans about their options for affordable health coverage and how to access critical services to keep their families healthy."
The health centers are expected to use the Department of Health and Human Services funds to hire new staff, train existing staff and conduct community outreach and educational activities. The awards announced today are:

- $294,466 to the Metro Community Provider Network, Englewood
- $128,498 to the Mountain Family Health Center, Glenwood Springs
- $77,590 to the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association, Inc., Steamboat Springs
- $66,403 to the Olathe Community Clinic, Inc., Olathe
- $310,009 to the Peak Vista Community Health Centers, Colorado Springs
- $91,021 to the Plains Medical Center, Inc., Limon
- $385,711 to the Plan De Salud Del Valle, Inc., Fort Lupton
