Bennet Statement on Ukraine-Border Negotiations

Washington, D.C. – Following a commitment from Majority Leader Schumer and Minority Leader McConnell to continue to work in good faith on the supplemental national security legislation, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet released his hold on the FAA reauthorization and said the following:

“I’m deeply disappointed that we did not reach a deal to fund Ukraine before leaving for the holidays. Since objecting to the budget bill in September, I have made the case to our elected leadership in Washington that we must support Ukraine for the sake of her brave people, our national security, and democracy around the world. In the last week, negotiations have continued, and Majority Leader Schumer and Minority Leader McConnell have said that they plan to ‘take swift action on the supplemental national security legislation early in the new year.’ Between now and then, we cannot take anything for granted.”
