Bennet Honors Colorado WWII Veterans During Visit to Memorial

Washington, DC – Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today met with more than 80 Colorado veterans from the Western Slope Honor Flight at the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

“It was great to meet with so many Colorado veterans who served our country so honorably in World War II,” said Bennet. “The Honor Flight gives veterans a special opportunity to visit the memorial that honors their dedication and sacrifice at a critical moment in our country’s history. We all owe these men and women a great deal of gratitude. They truly are a part of The Greatest Generation. We must continue to honor them and all our veterans for their sacrifice and work to ensure they receive the support and benefits they deserve.”

The Honor Flight Network organizes transport for veterans to visit their memorials in Washington, D.C. This is the fifth visit organized by Western Slope Honor Flight. Bennet also visited with Colorado veterans on an Honor Flight trip in May. For more information on the previous visit, please click here.
