Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today toured the newly-opened Mt. Carmel Health, Wellness and Community Center in Trinidad. The center was converted from the Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, one of five historical churches in Colorado.
“Coloradans across rural communities like Las Animas County are familiar with the challenges of gaining access to health services. The Mt. Carmel Health Center will help fill that gap, providing health and wellness services, especially to our most vulnerable populations,” Bennet said. “Its mission to provide cultural and social opportunities to the community will also help enrich the quality of life for residents in Las Animas County.”
The center opened last month and will provide critical health and wellness services to residents of the community. It will also serve as a community center offering programs for performing arts and community education.
