Bennet To Kickoff 'Fighting for Colorado Families' Statewide Tour With Visit to Grand, Jackson Counties

Will Visit With Workers at Hazardous Fuel Mitigation Site, Tour Rocky Mountain Pellet Factory, Hold Roundtable Discussion W/ Area Ag Leaders

On Thursday, August 13, 2009, Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, will kick off his "Fighting for Colorado Families" statewide tour with a visit to Grand and Jackson Counties.

Over the August recess, Michael is meeting with Coloradans in towns and cities across the state to hear first-hand their ideas on how we can build a stronger foundation and a better future for Colorado's families.

BENNET'S GRAND AND JACKSON COUNTY SCHEDULE FOR AUGUST, 13, 2009

Event 1: At 9:00 AM, Bennet Will Meet With U.S. Forest Service Employees With Hard Hats and Chainsaws Working on Hazardous Fuel Mitigation Efforts (Willow Creek Canal Picnic Ground, Junction of Hwy 40 and 34, Granby)

Event 2: At 12:00 PM, Bennet Will Stop By the Middle Park Electric Association Member Barbeque (312 3rd Avenue, Walden)

Event 3: At 12:30 PM, Bennet will Tour the Rocky Mountain Pellet Factory, a State-of-the-Art Pellet-making Facility that Will Be Capable of Producing 150,000 Tons of Pellets Per Year When At Full Capacity (1000 Jackson County Road 12 West, Walden)

Event 4: At 3:30 PM, Bennet Will Hold a Roundtable Discussion On Agricultural Issues to Discuss Efforts to Strengthen Colorado's Farming and Ranching Economy and Revitalize Rural Communities (Cathy Shipley Community Room, West Grand Middle School, 715 Kinsey Avenue, Kremmling)
