Bennet Reminds Coloradans about Free Tax-Filing Services

Coloradans Making Less than $60,000 Eligible for IRS Free File

Washington, DC - With the April 15th tax filing deadline approaching, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet is reminding Coloradans that the IRS' free federal tax-filing service is available for individuals making $60,000 or less in 2014.

Through IRS Free File, these individuals can prepare and e-file their federal tax returns for free by visiting www.IRS.gov/freefile. Free File has been updated to help navigate tax changes related to the Affordable Care Act. About 70 percent of taxpayers are eligible for this free service.

"Free File is a safe and valuable tool that can help hardworking Coloradans file their taxes at no cost," Bennet said. "Eligible Coloradans should visit the IRS Free File website to learn more."

IRS Free File is made possible through a landmark public-private partnership between the IRS and the Free File Alliance, a non-profit coalition of leading tax software companies. To learn more about the program, visit www.freefilealliance.org or www.freefile.irs.gov.
