Internships

We offer a competitive internship program for college students, college graduates, and graduate students in Michael’s Colorado and Washington, D.C. offices. Our internships provide an opportunity to learn about a Senate office while serving your community.

Individuals from all majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply, although we prioritize candidates with a Colorado connection. Each candidate is required to commit to at least 12 hours of work per week. We offer paid internships and internships for college credit or outside funding. To apply, read the guidelines for each office below and complete the online application form with the following materials:

  • Letter of recommendation

Colorado Internships

Colorado interns in one of Michael’s seven Colorado offices assist with constituent communication and outreach, take notes in weekly meetings, draft official correspondence, help constituents navigate federal agencies, collaborate on research projects, and more.

Washington, D.C. Internships

Interns in Michael’s Capitol Hill office support his legislative priorities and assist with administrative duties, including constituent communication.

Legislative interns will assist with legislative research, respond to constituent inquiries, attend committee hearings, and prepare briefs on Senate activities. Greeting visitors, answering phones, and conducting Capitol tours are also part of the internship.

Communications interns will assist with compiling daily press clips, drafting releases, and assisting the communications team with a wide range of projects. Greeting visitors, answering phones, and conducting Capitol tours are also part of the internship.
