Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet joined 41 other senators led by Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) to reintroduce the Respect for Marriage Act, a bill to repeal the discriminatory Defense of Marriage Act. The bill would also ensure that all legally-married, same-sex couples are treated equally under federal law by clarifying current statutes.

Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet today joined Senators John Barrasso (R-WY) and Martin Heinrich (D-NM) to introduce the LNG Permitting Certainty and Transparency Act. The bipartisan bill will speed up the approval process for exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to countries which do not have free trade agreements with the United States.
Bennet and Merkley were lead sponsors along with former Republican Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown on the bipartisan CROWDFUND Act, which was passed on April 5, 2012 as part of the JOBS Act, which allows small businesses to raise start-up capital on the internet.

The bill, which provides funding for a majority of the federal government for the remainder of the fiscal year, also contains funding for Golden's National Renewable Energy Lab, the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), the Forest Legacy Program, and the Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) program.
Bennet's bill stems from concerns brought to him by Colorado veterans, including some members of his Veterans Working Group, who believe some service members may be receiving less than Honorable discharges due to behavior related to mental trauma, such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
