Bennet Staff to Hold Nine More Farm Bill Listening Sessions in Southwestern Colorado, the San Luis Valley, Central Colorado, and the Denver Metro Area

Washington, D.C. – Today, Colorado U.S. Senator Michael Bennet announced that his agriculture policy staff and his regional staff will host nine more Farm Bill listening sessions in Southwestern Colorado, the San Luis Valley, Central Colorado, and the Denver Metro area from October 3rd through October 5th.

“From severe drought to volatile supply chains to high costs, Colorado’s farmers, ranchers, families, and rural communities are facing major challenges,” said Bennet. “These listening sessions with my staff are a chance for Coloradans to tell us how Washington can be a better partner to producers and anti-hunger advocates across the state.”

In an effort to make sure that Colorado’s voice is part of the national discussion about next year’s Farm Bill, staff members from Bennet’s office will continue to host listening sessions across the state throughout 2022. Bennet kicked off his listening sessions with roundtables in Pueblo and Fort Collins in April and May. He also hosted a roundtable with Secretary Vilsack in Palisade in August. By the end of this stretch of listening sessions, Bennet and his staff will have exceeded the number of sessions they held in the lead-up to the 2018 and 2014 Farm Bills.

Anyone with input on the Farm Bill process is welcome to attend, including local producers, community leaders, economic development leaders, and local institutions and businesses.

Attendees should RSVP to james_thompson@bennet.senate.gov with the location where they would like to attend, their name, title and organization (if applicable), and contact information. Additional details about each listening session and media guidance is available below.
